Why do killers kill? Follow psychological criminology professor and former FBI Special Agent Dr. Bryanna Fox as she teaches the next generation of criminologists their trade. Fox and her team of graduate students delve into the troubled minds of three different convicted murderers. Their study takes them from the classroom, to the field, to exclusive on-camera interviews with the actual subjects.

There's Will Davis, a serial killer and former nurse who's on death row, convicted of killing four of his patients. Robert Fratta is a former safety officer who's convicted killing his wife in a dark story of murder-for-hire. And Ivié DeMolina, a self-proclaimed successful businesswoman-turned-sex worker, convicted of leading a series of robberies that left two men dead.

Aside from the revealing portrait of each of these killers, The Lesson Is Murder also examines the impact of family secrects, the importance of being loved, and the harsh result an abject lack of love can create for the unloved individual.
